Pathé Migrates to Cloud With a Strategic Agreement Advised by DLA Piper
PARIS – Pathé, the oldest and leading cinema company in continental Europe, has entered into an important strategic agreement with New Zealand-based Vista Group for its cloud-based cinema management and sales software. The deal overseen by international law firm DLA Piper marks a significant shift towards digital solutions within the film industry, spanning multiple countries across Europe and Africa.
Pathé has made a progressive leap in modernizing its operations by transitioning to a new cloud solution developed by Vista Group. This system is set to be implemented across Pathé’s extensive network of 129 cinemas located in France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Tunisia, Morocco, and Senegal.
The success of this complex negotiation was credited to the close cooperation between DLA Piper teams from both Paris and London offices. The cross-border team led by partners Jonathan Rofé (Paris) and Mark O’Conor (London), alongside senior associate Evelina Dimitrova (Paris) with Maria Aouad as collaborator in France and Alexandra Moore playing her part as solicitor in London.
Working hand-in-hand were members from Pathé’s internal team including Chief Technology Officer Jean-Christophe Désire; IT Director for The Netherlands Barry de Bruin; RSSI Bonny Sounthone; along with Legal Director Arnaud Pavec.
This migration signifies more than just technological advancement—it reflects an adjustment period where companies like Pathé are seeking innovation-driven partnerships that prioritize efficiency without losing sight of their global presence. Through this collaboration facilitated expertly under DLA Piper’s guidance, Pathé not only embraces new methodologies but also sets itself at the forefront of cinematic experience excellence while maintaining its commitment to diverse markets it serves around the world.
